Employer sponsored visas provide an excellent opportunity for potential employers and skilled workers alike. There are a number of different types of employer-sponsored visas. Eligibility will depend on a number of factors including the occupation, the work experience of the applicant and the location of the position.

 

Skills in Demand Visa (SID)

SUBCLASS 482

The ‘Skills in Demand’ (SID) visa, also known as the Subclass 482 visa is the most popular and easy to obtain employer sponsored visa.

The SID visa is a temporary employer-sponsored visa which allows a potential employer to sponsor a highly skilled person to meet their business needs where a labour market shortage might otherwise exist.

They also allow potential employees to rely on their skills, work experience and qualifications as an opportunity to migrate to Australia and provides a pathway to permanent residency.

Visa applicants can apply under the Core Skills Stream, the Specialist Skills Stream or under the Labour Agreement Stream.


Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS)

The Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) is a permanent, employer-sponsored visa.

The ENS allows a potential employer to nominated a highly skilled person to meet their business needs where a labour market shortage might otherwise exist.

Visa applicants can either apply under the Direct Entry Stream, under the Temporary Residence Transition Stream (ie the pathway from the Subclass 482), or under the Labour Agreement Stream.


Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) Visa

The Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) Visa is a temporary, employer-sponsored visa.

The 494 allows a potential employer to sponsor a highly skilled person in a regional area to meet their business needs where a labour market shortage might otherwise exist.

They also allow potential employees to rely on their skills, work experience and qualifications as an opportunity to migrate to Australia as a permanent resident.
